মানবসভ্যতার শুরু থেকেই মানুষ অধিকতর সুযোগ এবং জীবনধারণে উপযোগী অঞ্চলের দিকে অভিগমন করেছে। জাতি-রাষ্ট্র গঠনের পর ও মানুষ নানা কারণে একস্থান থেকে স্থানান্তরিত হয়েছে। তবে নানা ধরনের যৌক্তিক কারণে যখন তারা নিজ দেশ থেকে অন্যদেশে স্থানান্তরিত হতে বাধ্য হয়, তখন সেটি মানবিক দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে তাদের প্রতি অমানবিক, অত্যাচার, জুলুম হিসেবে গণ্য হয়। 

বিপুল সংখ্যক মানুষের এক দেশ থেকে অন্যদেশে স্থানান্তর যেমন সেসব মানুষ এবং ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে অনিশ্চয়তার দিকে ঠেলে দেয়; একইভাবে যেসব দেশ তাদেরকে জায়গা দিচ্ছে তাদের নিজ নিজ আর্থ- সামাজিক অবস্থানের উপর ভিত্তি করেই একধরনের অতিরক্ত চাপের সম্মুখীন হয়। উন্নত দেশের তুলনায় এটি উন্নয়নশীল বা অনুন্নত দেশের জন্য অধিকতর নেতিবাচক প্রভাব সৃষ্টিকারী একটি মানবিক ইস্যু।

অসংখ্য মানুষ যখন কোন কারণে নিজ দেশ থেকে অন্য কোথাও স্থানান্তরিত হয় তখন এই ঘটনাকে Diaspora বলা হয়।

বিভিন্ন কারণে এই স্থানান্তরের ঘটনা ঘটতে পারে- যুদ্ধ, সংঘাত, উপনিবেশ, বল্প্রয়োগ, বিশ্বায়ন, ধর্ম, দুর্নীতি, দারিদ্র্য, ব্যক্তিগত স্বার্থ, উন্নত জীবনযাত্রার আকাঙ্খা, প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ এদের মধ্যে অন্যতম।

বিগত শতাব্দীতে ১৯৪৭ সালে ভারতবর্ষকে ধর্মের ভিত্তিতে ভারত ও পাকিস্তান ২ ভাগে ভাগ করার ফলে পুরো ভারত উপমহাদেশীয় অঞ্চলে বিশাল সংখ্যক মানুষের দেশান্তর হবার ঘটনা ঘটেছিল। সাম্প্রতিককালে মিয়ানমারের আরাকান অঞ্চলের রোহিঙ্গা মুসলিমদের ধর্মের কারণে নিজ দেশ থেকে স্থানান্তরিত হয়েছে এবং পার্শ্ববর্তী দেশ বাংলাধেশে আশ্রয় গ্রহণ করেছে।

যে সব কারণে দেশান্তরের ঘটনা ঘটছে, সেসব বিষয়ে বিশ্বনেতাদের সজাগ দৃষ্টি রাখা উচিৎ, যুদ্ধ- আগ্রাসন দ্রুত পরিহার করে, নিজ নিজ দেশের মানুষদের অধিকার নিশ্চিত করে , তাদের যৌক্তিক চাহিদা পূরণে যথাযথ পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা উচিৎ।   

Diaspora

Diaspora is a term that refers to a large number of people who have left their homeland and migrated to another country. It can happen either by being forced to leave the country or departing willingly. 

There are numerous explanations behind the diaspora. Force, conflict, colonization, globalization, religion, corruption, poverty, personal interest, aspiration for a better standard of living, warfare, natural disasters, and labor transportation are the main reasons for diaspora today. 

The Jewish people are regarded as the first diaspora people in human history. Aryans were the second diaspora ever recorded in history, having arrived in the Indian subcontinent roughly a thousand years ago from Central Europe.

In 1947, people were split between two different countries, India and Pakistan, resulting in many migrants in this region. Recently, Rohingyas from Arakan, Myanmar, have sought refuge in Bangladesh. It is a relatively new phenomenon, and religion is the primary reason for the diaspora.

Especially as a result of globalization, People are dispersed throughout the world. Settling in developed countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Canada, and Australia has become popular. More significant opportunities, better location, corruption in the country, higher education, and other factors contribute to the willing diaspora people.

Most countries view diaspora to be a burden. Although a developed host country can provide shelter for diaspora individuals, an underdeveloped or developing host country holds the load. 

To avoid diaspora, world leaders must be aware of the need to prevent wars, dissimilarities, elevate lifestyle, and satisfy their people's needs.
